“Make a Joyful Noise Unto The Lord...” – Psalm 100:1

Welcome!

I have a passion for working with all ages to use music in a variety of ways.  To grow musically, to enhance our lives emotionally, or to use it to live a more productive life.

I have a music degree from Spring Arbor University with an emphasis on voice, conducting and saxophone and have been teaching private music for over 30 years.   I have also taught classroom music in Christian school settings (elementary music and band) and have directed vocal and hand bell choirs in churches and senior centers.

I specialize in beginning piano, voice (all levels) and saxophone (beginning and intermediate).  I include a thorough knowledge of music theory, ear training and literature.

As of November, 2022 I am also now a Board Certified Music Therapist (MT-BC).  I am currently adding those services.  For more on what Music Therapy is and how it differs from Music Lessons see please the Q and A page.

I teach in my Mattawan, MI home and at Heritage Christian Academy in Kalamazoo, MI.   For more information on locations please see the Q and A page.

For lessons, (musical goals) my normal rate is $100 a month (30 minute lessons-$25 per lesson)  For more information on rates, see the Q and A page.
For Music Therapy, (non-music goals) my current rate is $50 per session.  (45-50 minute session,4 sessions per month and includes all documentation, session planning, collaboration with health providers and/or educators, supplies such as use of instruments and technology, etc.)
